The Legal Unit is now seeking an engaged and experienced lawyer.

The unit's mission is to provide qualified advice in all legal areas relevant to a university in its capacity as an authority, employer, and contracting party. The unit is part of Karolinska Institutet's shared operational support. It is led by the chief legal officer and consists of 10 lawyers and two information security specialists. KI's data protection officer is located within the unit.

Your role

Your main tasks will involve drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various types of contracts that occur at a large university, such as agreements on research collaboration and commissioned research. This work is primarily conducted in English. The role also includes general advice in other legal areas such as central civil law and Life Science law, as well as participation in internal training and information initiatives within the university.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a law degree and several years of experience in qualified legal work from a university, law firm, corporation, or equivalent. You have strong analytical skills and enjoy working both independently and in a team. You are solution-oriented, proactive, and quickly adapt to new tasks. You express yourself well in both spoken and written English and Swedish. Experience in contract law, intellectual property law, Life Science law, and data protection is an advantage.

We place great importance on your personal qualities. It is essential that you have excellent communication and collaboration skills and an interest in working with other professionals. You are flexible in your work approach and can quickly adapt to new situations.
