Job Description
Do you have extensive experience in financial management within real estate projects and run your own consulting company? We are now looking for a senior interim consultant for a significant assignment with an important authority in Stockholm. The assignment will last for 18–24 months.
As an interim project economist, you will step in with high independence and take overall responsibility for the financial management of complex real estate projects. You will be the link between the project operations and the central finance department. As the project's intensity will vary over time, we are looking for someone who appreciates a flexible workload.
- Scope: Varies between 50% and 100% during the contract period.
- Guarantee level: We guarantee a workload of at least 50%.
- Duration: Approximately 18–24 months.
- Location: Stockholm (participation in construction meetings and project meetings on-site is required).
We are looking for someone who:
- has previously worked with finance specifically in the real estate industry and understands the specific challenges of large construction and real estate projects.
- is well-versed in cash flow planning and final cost forecasts. You identify deviations before they become problems and act proactively.
- is comfortable attending construction meetings, supporting project managers with budget issues, and acting as a bridge between the project and the central finance department.
- enjoys handling ongoing bookkeeping, VAT reporting, and invoice reviews necessary to keep the project on track.
- ensures that all financial documentation meets the requirements for financial transparency and regulatory compliance.
- is used to working independently and managing multiple projects simultaneously without compromising the quality of your reporting.
In this role, you will have overall responsibility for the financial management of real estate projects. You will prepare budgets, handle accruals, conduct analyses, and provide decision-making support to steering groups and project managers. You will also participate in procurements and ensure that the project complies with the financial regulations applicable to the authority.
Responsibilities
- Financial management: Responsible for forecasts, budget follow-ups, cash flow planning, and final cost forecasts.
- Proactive analysis: Identify deviations in time and provide advisory support to project managers and steering groups.
- Operational finance: Manage ongoing bookkeeping, accruals, VAT reporting, and invoice reviews specific to the project.
- Quality assurance: Ensure that all documentation meets the requirements for financial transparency and the authority's regulations.
- Collaboration: Actively participate in construction meetings and procurements from a financial perspective.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- is established as a subcontractor with their own company (F-tax).
- has a bachelor's degree in finance or equivalent.
- has extensive experience in finance within the real estate industry and understands the dynamics of large construction projects.
- is comfortable working independently and can manage several parallel flows without losing precision in reporting.
- has excellent skills in Excel and experience with complex financial systems.
This is a perfect assignment for you who want a stable client over a longer period but also have room for other activities during the periods when the project is at 50%. You will work in a professional environment where your expertise directly contributes to vital infrastructure. Important! This consulting request begins with a comprehensive background check, and only after a successful background check can you start and invoice for the assignment.
