Analyst with a focus on statistics, temporary position for 1 year
The area of Official Statistics is responsible for Försäkringskassan's mission as the statistical authority within the social insurance area. We can offer you great variation in tasks where you will operate in the intersection of IT, data, programming, statistics, law, communication, and analysis. Your work will play an important role in knowledge building, research, and public debate.
We are now looking for a socially interested analyst who wants to contribute to Försäkringskassan's mission as the statistical authority. Together with other analysts and independently, you will work on developing and disseminating the agency's official statistics on social insurance. This involves processing data from our data warehouse to create statistics and communicating with our users to ensure the statistics are utilized. Currently, we have several ongoing parental leaves, and we particularly need to strengthen our work in providing statistics and services to respond to statistical inquiries coming into the agency.
We are looking for someone who is meticulous, works systematically, and can handle several different tasks in a day. As an agency, we work with clear language. This requires that you have a good ability to express yourself and can explain complex issues and relationships in a simple way.
You will work on several different tasks during a day.
- You will respond to statistics-related inquiries that come into Försäkringskassan's statistics operations.
- You will provide support for interpreting the statistics, both verbally and in writing.
- You will use SAS to process and develop data from Försäkringskassan's data warehouse to produce socially relevant and requested statistics.
- You will help produce and compile microdata for researchers and other authorities.
- You will work both independently and may collaborate with other analysts, business developers, IT architects, specialists, system developers, and communicators.
The position involves handling confidential information, which places high demands on proper management. Therefore, it is important that you, who will work with us, have a high level of security awareness.

We are looking for someone who
- has a university degree in social sciences with a focus on statistics or equivalent experiences and qualifications
- has experience using programming tools for statistical production in previous work/studies
- is service-oriented and enjoys communicating with statistics users
- has experience working with and analyzing large amounts of data
- can prioritize and drive issues independently
- collaborates effectively with others to achieve common goals
- has an interest in working with social issues
- has good communication skills and can express yourself clearly and pedagogically in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
It is advantageous if you
- have experience with SQL or SAS programming
- have experience working with refining large datasets to facilitate analysis work
- have experience working with GDPR
- have experience from working within social insurance or another authority.

1 position, temporary for 1 year, full-time, with start date according to agreement. In accordance with Försäkringskassan's security guidelines, background checks will be conducted in this recruitment, and employment with us may also involve placement in a security class.
