The Department of Children and Education includes preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, after-school care, high school, and adult education. Currently, over 200 employees work in our department.
We lay the foundation for lifelong learning by offering safe care and stimulating learning environments. We actively work with guiding interactions and start from the children's and students' conditions and their personal abilities.
We aim for high goal fulfillment and for every student to have the best possible conditions for a safe and successful school experience. We offer our children and youth a meaningful leisure time through our after-school activities.
Our middle school is located in Lekeberg Municipality, in the central town of Fjugesta. Approximately 330 students in grades 7–9 attend the school. The school is organized into four teams, with each team consisting of a class from each grade – creating good collaboration and a clear structure around the students.
Here, the student is at the center. We work on building relationships and with clear expectations, and we consider the whole individual – both knowledge development, safety, and well-being. Together, we create an inclusive learning environment where students receive the right support, are seen, and given the opportunity to succeed.
Job Responsibilities
At Lekeberg School 7–9, we work purposefully to create a safe and developing school environment where students have the conditions to succeed. We want to strengthen the work around students who need extra support to attend school, feel good, and focus on their learning. As a student coordinator, you will play an important role in this work and become part of the school's collective efforts to create a sustainable everyday life for more students.
In the role of student coordinator, you will be an important person for the students' development and well-being at Lekeberg School 7–9. You are a visible and accessible adult in the school's daily life and work on building relationships, prevention, and promotion to strengthen safety and study focus. You catch early signals regarding students who risk getting into difficulties and may need to reach out to students who have weak connections to school or where school absenteeism is starting to increase.
Through coaching and motivation-enhancing conversations, you support students in finding structure, strategies, and balance in their everyday lives to manage the school day and schoolwork. The work may also involve helping students take steps in social situations and creating better conditions for participating in lessons.
You collaborate closely with mentors, student health services, and school management and contribute to creating joint solutions around students – sometimes also in contact with guardians – so that interventions are implemented early and followed up clearly. An important part of the assignment is also to contribute to support and structure around mentorship through follow-up and coordination, so that more students receive the right support at the right time.
The position is a fixed-term project employment for one year, linked to a granted grant to raise the level of knowledge. The employment may be extended provided that project funds are granted/continue and that necessary decisions are made.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who enjoys working closely with young people and who easily builds trust. You are calm, clear, and secure in your interactions with students, and you can combine warmth with structure. You need to be able to work independently in daily life while collaborating closely with the school's staff.
The most important thing is that you have the right attitude, a genuine commitment to the students' development, and the ability to build professional relationships. Personal suitability will weigh heavily.
With us, you will have a meaningful assignment where you make a difference in students' everyday lives. You will work in a school where collaboration and student focus are central, and where there is a willingness to develop working methods and find lasting solutions.
Welcome with your application! Selection and interviews may take place on an ongoing basis.
