Substitute Teachers Needed for Preschool and School

We are looking for substitute teachers for our preschool and school operations – childcare workers, student assistants, after-school assistants, and substitute teachers – who want to contribute to a safe, developing, and educational environment for our children and students.

You are service-oriented, cooperative, and enjoy a varied job in a school environment.

About the Position

To work at BBU, you need to be able to cycle, take the bus, or have a B driver's license and access to a car, as our operations are located throughout the municipality. We are looking for someone who can and wants to work throughout the municipality, which may involve travel outside the urban area.

As a substitute, you will use the Medvind system, where you enter your availability to be booked for shifts.

We are looking for someone who is responsible, flexible, and engaged. It is important that you have a good and respectful demeanor – both towards children, students, guardians, and colleagues. You are proactive, cooperative, and confident in yourself, and can handle stressful situations.

In this role, you will work in accordance with applicable curricula, laws, policies, and routines. You will contribute to creating a safe and inclusive environment where every child and student is given the opportunity to develop and participate according to their needs.

The work is carried out independently or under the guidance of a licensed preschool teacher or teacher.

About the Workplace

Staffing for Children and Education (BBU) provides substitutes for positions shorter than three months within Children and Education. This means that BBU coordinates and mediates available substitute positions within the administration for preschool, school, and the meal unit. All short-term substitutes in BBU are recruited and employed in the same way as other staff in the municipality.

Qualifications

As an employee with us, you have a self-driven and solution-focused approach to work. A language test may be applied as part of the recruitment process if you do not have a Swedish high school diploma or SVA03. You will need to supplement your application with grades that show you have the required educational level. Furthermore, you must have a good command of the Swedish language to communicate with children, relatives, and other staff, as well as to document what the operation requires in writing. Since the work involves digital documentation, good computer skills are also required.

Requirements

• at least 18 years old and have a high school education or equivalent
• ability to substitute in all preschools or schools within Örebro municipality
• availability to work at least three days a week

Meritorious

• childcare education, preschool teacher education, or teaching education, or other ongoing educational training
• B driver's license and access to your own car
• experience working in preschool or school
• experience working in support for individuals with disabilities
