About the position

The position involves supporting and guiding participants pedagogically and practically in their employment and other activities. You will work with adults who have various disabilities, primarily psychiatric and/or neuropsychiatric. The work includes guiding, planning, and structuring various tasks based on the individual's unique conditions, as outlined in the implementation plan. You will have individual case responsibility for a number of participants and solve your tasks independently and through collaboration and cooperation both internally and externally.

As a support assistant within the Employment Activity, practical skills and creativity are also required, as the work, in addition to documentation, involves instructing participants to perform various services and different crafts such as carpentry, transport, bicycle workshop, company services, gardening/property, music activities, and café work. We also offer pathways to internships or studies through our employment consultant. You will be offered a dynamic, varied job where you have time and space to work with a rehabilitative approach focused on recovery.

Examples of tasks:

  • support the service recipient in daily activities in a pedagogical manner
  • medication management based on delegation
  • plan and develop work independently and together with the work group
  • collaborate with relatives and others in the service recipient's network, nurses, occupational therapists, and other actors such as the region
  • document
  • participate in workplace meetings and other meetings

About the workplace

The Social Psychiatry Employment offers participants a structured and meaningful occupation with social community based on Individual Needs at the Center. Participants have the opportunity to come and take part in activities at the employment activity. Examples of tasks may include transport tasks, creative/crafts, gardening, bicycle workshop, dance, conversation, or social activities indoors/outdoors. Currently, there are 12 support assistants/instructors and one employment consultant working at the Employment Activity. The main address is Skomaskinsgatan 6D, and the premises are well adapted to the needs of the operation.

The Social Services Department for functional support provides support and services to people with physical and mental disabilities according to the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS) and the Social Services Act (SoL).

Qualifications

As a support assistant with us, you are a secure and stable person. You have the ability to meet service recipients in a professional manner by being calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. You collaborate well with others and relate to them in a responsive and flexible way. Furthermore, you have a positive view of people with great respect for each individual's unique needs. You master the Swedish language in such a way that you can communicate with the service recipient and other staff, as well as document what the operation requires in writing. Good computer skills are also required for documentation.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • nursing assistant education or alternatively the child and leisure program (focus on educational and/or social work)
  • documented experience in the field of functional support
  • driver's license for manual transmission and experience driving a manual car

Meritorious:

  • documented experience of work in the area of mental disability or neuropsychiatric disability
  • experience of work in employment SoL or daily activities LSS
  • experience and security in working with challenging behavior and threats and violence
  • good knowledge of sign language
  • experience of IBIC and structured work with implementation plans
  • experience/knowledge of practical tasks (e.g., technology, mechanics, gardening, vehicles, kitchen/café, creative/crafts, instruments, and music)

Scope and start date

Employment type: permanent position

Employment rate: 100%

Start date: May 1, 2026, or by agreement

Number of positions: 1

Working hours: day, evening, and every other weekend
