Treatment Pedagogue at SiS LVM Home Runnagården

The National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with addiction. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with addiction, across the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS LVM Home Runnagården receives women with alcohol, drug, or mixed addiction. We accept women with mental health issues as well as aggressive women with violent behavior. We also accept women with medication-assisted treatment (LARO).

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing transformations for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in everyday life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You help maintain safety according to our routines and contribute to the smooth running of daily activities such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. Being a contact person is also one of your tasks. The work may also involve mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in a difficult life situation. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule of day-evening and weekend or constant night shifts.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with a guided introduction and equips you for the treatment role in SiS operations.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in a vulnerable life situation and share SiS's values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are confident in yourself and easily build relationships with both youth and other staff members. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in stressful situations. You easily collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

You should also have:

  • A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another equivalent subject area (Nursing assistant is unfortunately not qualifying).
  • A valid driver's license (B)
  • Good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing

Meritorious:

  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care
  • Experience from client-facing positions in the Prison and Probation Service, e.g., Correctional Officer
  • Training in care and support
  • Experience working with our target group, addiction care

On July 1, 2025, a new social services regulation came into force, which entails changed competence requirements for staff at SiS homes. Those employed to provide care, support, and upbringing or treatment in a care or housing home must have at least a two-year post-secondary education or an equivalent education unless there are special reasons. The education must be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area” (Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Act).

Employment:

The position is a permanent employment and starts with a six-month probationary period.

We are looking for employees for full-time work with shift hours (day/evening and weekend)

And part-time 95.19% for constant night shifts.

Start date by agreement. The last day to apply is April 1, 2026.
