Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is in both Swedish and English, and the hallways are bilingual. The language of meetings and communication amongst the staff is English.
IES is one of Sweden's largest school groups at compulsory school level with 48 schools and around 32,000 students across the country. IES has grown steadily and maintained quality since 1993.
Internationella Engelska Skolan Södertälje is a school for grades F-9 with 780 students and 86 employees. The school started in 2017 and has since grown and established itself. The school is located near Brunnsäng center, close to buses and a nice green area.
The school has an international focus and teaching is conducted in both English and Swedish depending on the subject. The school wants to work to put learning and knowledge first. We are a school with a clear set of values, with a safe work environment, good discipline and a lot of care. Students must learn to take personal responsibility for their development and work environment and to respect their schoolmates, teachers and themselves.
The role:
The role is to deliver quality student support at IES Södertälje and should ensure consistency of resources and high expectations while promoting a good school culture.
The SCC is a role on the EHT team that collaborates with teaching staff, special pedagogues, and both academic and pastoral middle management roles to ensure a holistic approach for supporting the needs of students with extra requirements.
This can include preventative work, attendance monitoring, and teaching in smaller settings (särskild undervisning).
SCC reports directly to AP and works in close cooperation with the rest of EHT (including ACs) as well as HOYs and HoDs. It is a position on the Middle Management team, and as such is expected to uphold the ethos of the school at all times.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Follow the behaviour management flowchart, recording on Behaviour Watch where necessary.
- Be present in Boost whenever students are.
- Delivering “High academic expectations and aspirations”.
- Create a Support Plan for any students spending whole lessons in Boost.
- This plan should outline all adjustments needed for the student to succeed.
- The plan should also include details on what topics/assignments students are working on and when.
- Support in the education for students and staff on types and quality of possible adjustments related to individual students’ needs.
