Brandbergsskolan in Haninge municipality is expanding its operations! Brandbergsskolan is a F-9 school with learning studios, special education groups, preparatory classes, and adapted primary school.

For the school year 2024/2025, we are starting a new operation: adapted primary school subject areas. As a result, we are now looking for childcare workers, leisure educators, and special teachers! The new operation concerns the lower grades.

Your mission

As a childcare worker in the adapted primary school subject areas, you will work with a group of children throughout the day. You will have a supportive role for students and assist teaching teachers in conducting lessons and in school and after-school care. As a childcare worker, you provide educational, social, and physical support to students.

As a childcare worker, you will actively support students in ADL - Activities of Daily Living. This means you will help students with, among other things:

• Eating and drinking - breakfast, lunch, and snacks
• Dressing and undressing
• Personal hygiene - showering, possible diaper changes
• Bathroom visits and body care

What we are looking for in you

We are looking for someone who is a trained childcare worker or has another qualification that we consider equivalent. A requirement is to have experience working with children/youth with intellectual disabilities, preferably within adapted primary school.

As a childcare worker in the adapted primary school, you need to be solution-oriented as the operation will challenge you, and you need to be able to make decisions based on the best interests of the student in the moment. This also requires that you have the ability to collaborate as you will work with several different functions and roles.

You should have a stable physique as outdoor activities will take place in all weather conditions, and you will need to provide physical support to students.

You need to be able to express yourself clearly in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, as the job involves contact with guardians as well as some documentation.
