Workplace Description - About the Project

The Hässelby-Vällingby district administration, together with the district administrations of Enskede-Årsta-Vantör, Järva, and Skärholmen, has been granted project funds from the city's social investment fund to develop aftercare services for youth leaving social care through the initiative Aftercare with High Accessibility for Youth at Risk of Criminality. The project will run from August 2024 to December 2027.

Aftercare with high accessibility for youth at risk of criminality means that a team of three full-time family therapists will be established in each participating district administration. The main task of the teams is to create conditions for a socially functioning life for the youth leaving social care by offering coordinated and qualified support. The support is tailored to the needs of the youth and their parents and characterized by a high degree of flexibility regarding method choice, intensity, and meetings considering time, place, and form. The initiative is distinguished by high accessibility. Collaboration between involved parties in the network is close, and ongoing evaluations are conducted. To ensure flexibility and immediate responses, family therapists and social workers will work closely together with regular and frequent evaluations.

Job Description

You will work as a family therapist in the team and offer a structured aftercare initiative to youth leaving social care. The initiative includes different phases for planning, implementation, and maintenance and constitutes a comprehensive solution where social interventions are implemented at various levels in parallel. You will work with the youth individually on behavior and skill training, communication, and interaction within the family from a systems theory perspective, and mobilize and coordinate a prosocial network with both private contacts and professional actors. If necessary, the initiative also offers practical support and guidance to establish necessary contacts, such as within healthcare, school, or organized leisure activities.

Requirements

  • Degree in Social Work, or other higher education that the employer deems equivalent
  • Several years of experience working with children and youth

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience working with the target group
  • Basic psychotherapy training equivalent to step 1, or other further education in the field of psychosocial treatment work
  • Experience in systemic family therapy focusing on youth, their parents, and other networks
  • Experience in the social services' authority operations
  • Experience in psychosocial treatment work

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone with an excellent ability to work in a team and drive work forward in close collaboration with others. You take initiative and come up with ideas and stay motivated in processes that require perseverance. You are a stable and secure person who is good at creating, maintaining, and developing professional relationships with youth, their parents, colleagues, and partners. We see that you approach your tasks in a structured way and can plan and prioritize your work based on changing conditions.

We Offer You

A well-thought-out introduction plan, professional development, external supervision, training, and exchange of experiences.

We also offer:
