Social Worker for Reception, Children and Youth at the Reception and Family Support Unit
Lidingö Municipality invests in social services work with children and youth. We have conducted a development project to create even better conditions for establishing a modern, preventive, and accessible social service. As part of this, we are now consolidating all authority exercises and open care concerning children and youth (0-20) into a dedicated area. The area for children, youth, and families consists of three units:
- The Reception and Family Support Unit
- The Investigation Unit for Children, Youth, and Families
- The Foster Care and Intervention Unit
The Reception and Family Support Unit consists of two groups, and we are now seeking a social worker for the reception concerning children and youth (0-20 years).
The area for children, youth, and families belongs to the Department of Social Services, which is one of our six departments in Lidingö Municipality. Approximately 800 employees work with us to support our residents in all stages of life. We work with individual and family care, social psychiatry, disability services, and elderly care. We always put the individual's needs at the center.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The reception group is a team with great competence and commitment. Experienced and wise colleagues work closely together. Your main tasks are to work with children and youth and their parents. This includes receiving reports of concern, applications, and providing advice regarding children and youth. Through preliminary assessments, it is determined whether the child's/youth's needs require further investigation.
In your role as a social worker within the reception group, you will receive applications and reports, conduct safety assessments and preliminary assessments that lead to a decision. If a decision for investigation is made, the case is transferred to the investigation group, with which there is close collaboration. We work with authority exercises regulated, among other things, by SoL and LVU. The reception job involves a form of on-call activity regarding urgent cases, where work is planned collectively within the group. The work requires collaboration internally with other units and departments, as well as externally, with the aim of offering coordinated support to our residents in Lidingö.
To ensure close managerial support, the unit is led by a unit manager and group leader. In the unit, we work inspired by Signs of Safety and Motivational Interviewing (MI), which are cornerstones of our approach. If necessary, we therefore offer basic training in these methods and approaches for new employees. We have external supervision and also offer wellness hours and wellness grants.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is a social worker with several years of experience in authority exercises within the area of children and youth. As a person, you find social work important and enjoyable. You share our belief that interventions are best designed in collaboration around the individual. You can empathize with others' situations, act calmly in stressful situations, and thrive with juggling many tasks at once. We also believe that you have good judgment in your work and want to contribute to the unit's method development. You have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing. It is important that you can follow through processes and have good collaboration skills.
