Child Representative at Skogsbo
Skogsbo is The Salvation Army's sheltered accommodation for women and their children who have been subjected to violence. Here we offer a safe and homely environment where families can settle, recover, and create conditions for a safer life. The accommodation accepts women who are victims of violence in intimate relationships and human trafficking. We have space for 15 women and approximately 21 children.
Our operations are based on a holistic perspective – to meet the whole person and create environments that strengthen, motivate, and enable change.
About the Role
As a Child Representative, you play a key role in ensuring the safety, development, and participation of the children. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on interventions based on the children's needs, the purpose of the placement, and the goals of the care plan. The role involves both independent work and close collaboration with the team.
You ensure that the children's voices are heard – in daily life, in documentation, and in contacts with social services and other actors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning & Follow-up
- Plan interventions based on assignments and the child's needs.
- Establish implementation plans and participate in safety planning for the child.
- Maintain ongoing documentation in IDOK and write weekly/monthly reports and evaluations.
Work with Children & Youth
- Conduct individual conversations with children.
- Facilitate group activities and events.
- Work to strengthen motivation and support in the child's daily life.
- Ensure the child's participation and rights throughout the process.
- Help design new routines to improve the quality of interventions concerning children in sheltered accommodation and further develop the organization's working methods based on children's needs.
Collaboration & Authority Contacts
- Be the contact person for the placing social worker.
- Manage and plan visitation and be responsible for visitation.
- Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, and other key actors.
Team & Operations
- Actively contribute to the development of Skogsbo's child rights perspective.
- Work closely with colleagues from a holistic perspective where safety, structure, and response are central.
- Practical work is included.
- Participate in the organization's on-call schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements
- Social worker - verified with degree certificate.
- Experience working with children and youth in vulnerable situations.
- At least two years of experience working with victims of violence.
- Good documentation skills and understanding of authority practice.
- Ability to create safety and trust in a complex environment.
- Driver's license B.
Meritorious
- Knowledge of the mechanisms of violence and its consequences.
- Experience from HVB, sheltered accommodation, or similar contexts.
- Experience working on safety (risk and safety assessments).
- Access to a personal vehicle.

- Independent but collaborative.
- Flexible, solution-focused, and highly empathetic.
- Good ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain structure.
