The Interpreting Center for the Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing is organized as one of three units within the Audiology Services, Region Västernorrland, located in Härnösand. The mission of the Interpreting Center is to enable individuals with deafness, deafblindness, and hearing impairment to communicate according to our mandate described in the Health and Medical Services Act.
Within the interpreting center, 11 people work, holding roles such as sign language interpreters, administrators, and unit managers. We are a wonderful and cheerful team with great enthusiasm for our mission, where we support and encourage each other. It is a creative and complex operation, which requires a strong sense of responsibility. We are looking for a sign language coordinator for our operations. This is an important function/role that serves as the hub of the interpreting center's activities. Your tasks will include administering interpreting requests that come in through all our channels such as voice, text, and video phone, web forms, and email. This requires schematic vision to quickly identify new solutions based on changing conditions.
The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date according to agreement.
Coordinator for the Interpreting Center, Härnösand
Job Responsibilities- Distribute interpreting assignments to our permanent interpreters
- Regularly engage and maintain contact with freelance interpreters and interpreting companies
- Daily contact with authorities and interpreting requesters
- Administrative tasks, primarily in our interpreting booking system, as well as other data systems/software
- Assist with remote interpreting
We are looking for someone who
- Can sign language
- Has good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
It is advantageous if you
- Have good skills in the Office suite
- Have experience working in a coordinating role
- Have work experience from customer service, reception, or other roles deemed equivalent by the employer
- Experience in scheduling
- Have good knowledge of the Working Hours Act
