In the autumn of 2026, Haninge municipality will open a completely new resource school and we are now looking for 2 special education teachers with a focus on Swedish/language and mathematics who want to help build a school where students with extensive support needs have the best possible conditions for success. The school will be centrally located in Handen, near the commuter train station. The new resource school will replace previously locally placed learning studios in the municipality, aiming to gather expertise and resources under one roof to create a more cohesive and powerful operation.
Your mission
Your mission as a special education teacher is to collaborate with other professionals within student health to create the best possible conditions for the student's health, development, and learning. The work is preventive, promoting, and remedial. You are an integral part of the effort to reach every student and collaborate with other staff at the school. As a special education teacher, you will plan and implement instruction (individually and in groups), assessments, provide guidance to educational staff, and observe both individual children, students, and groups. You will be an active part of the students' school day and will find yourself in learning situations as well as in social break situations with the students. You will also play a key role in the formulation of educational investigations and action plans, as well as other relevant student documentation.
You will work at the individual, group, and organizational levels and will be heavily involved in the work surrounding individual students and teaching groups to create a functioning and sustainable school situation. The work includes, among other things, observations, consultations, and guidance to staff, as well as student-centered work. Together with other professionals in student health, you will collaborate with relevant contacts outside the school to support the student's learning and contribute your special education perspective.
What we are looking for in you
- You have a special education teacher degree with a focus on language or mathematics.

Requirements:
- You are a licensed special education teacher with a focus on language or mathematics.
Meritorious:
- Previous work with students in need of special support and experience with similar assignments within resource schools or learning studios.
- Experience in Positive Behavior Support.
