About Us

We are a school with about 370 students in grades F-7, and the upper secondary school is gradually being expanded.

The school is located near Edsviken and Ulriksdal Palace Park, which means we are close to nature, yet only 12 minutes by subway to central Stockholm. At Bergshamraskolan, we actively work with structures and methods to create participation in the school. We are a friendly school where we work together with colleagues in a pleasant environment close to swimming, nature, and sports facilities.

What Does the Job Entail?

The position means that you will be a substitute at Bergshamraskolan and will be called in as needed. As a substitute, you replace regular staff during short or long absences. In the role of a substitute, you will carry out teaching in the classroom based on the regular teacher's planning or at after-school care together with other educators. You will cover different grades within elementary school and hold lessons in various subjects. As a substitute in after-school care, you are expected to participate in activities with children (ages 6-12) before school starts or after the school day ends. During the school day, you will be in the classroom supporting the regular teacher.

You will receive a need-based employment as a substitute teacher or childcare substitute depending on your education. Your work experience, education, abilities, and skills will determine which activities and subjects you will be available for.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone who:

• has completed high school education with passing grades
• has experience in pedagogical work in schools and/or after-school care
• has a good command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

It is an advantage if you are a licensed teacher or currently studying to become one.

As a person, you are attentive to students' needs, clear, respectful, and have a strong ability to collaborate. You will follow others' plans during educators' absences and collaborate with students, educators, and guardians. Furthermore, you will organize and prioritize effectively and ensure that all processes are completed with good quality. You are a secure person with good pedagogical insight who can lead groups and individuals.

As a substitute teacher, you work independently and are confident in managing a classroom situation on your own. As a childcare substitute, you are expected to be flexible and responsible as you work in support of teachers in the classroom and educators in after-school activities.
