IT Support Specialist at Skellefteå Municipality

YOUR ROLE

As an IT Support Specialist, you will be part of the support unit within the IT and Business Development department, working with all municipal operations. You are an important part of our service delivery and meet users in their daily lives – both when something needs to be resolved quickly and when they need guidance on how to use the systems most effectively.

You will handle incoming cases via the case management system and phone, troubleshoot systematically, and follow up until the solution is in place. In this role, you are expected to take overall responsibility for your cases and contribute to maintaining our service levels. You document your work and work with security awareness, as our solutions are part of a larger and complex IT environment.

You will also participate in testing, implementations, and improvement work related to new solutions. As a specialist, you are expected not only to solve problems but also to contribute knowledge, identify patterns, and help develop how we work with support in the future.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone with relevant IT education or equivalent knowledge gained through experience. You have worked with IT support or similar roles and are accustomed to a service-oriented approach in environments with many users. In this role, a professional demeanor and good collaboration skills are as important as technical competence. You are solution-oriented and take responsibility for driving your cases from start to finish.

To effectively analyze and resolve cases, you need to have broad, general IT knowledge and feel comfortable working with Windows clients, Microsoft 365, as well as basic administration in Microsoft environments, such as Active Directory and user management. Experience with case management systems, support for mobile devices, knowledge of ITIL, or certifications within Microsoft are advantageous. It is a plus if you are accustomed to using generative AI assistants and have the ability to formulate effective prompts, as we as a municipality want to actively and sustainably work with AI in our operations.

You need to be able to express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing, as you will need to adapt your communication to users with varying levels of technical knowledge. A B driver's license is required as work may occur at various workplaces within the municipality.
