About the position

As a relay protection engineer, you will be a key person in a team of experienced specialists responsible for the relay protection systems in our facilities. You will work with the entire chain – from designing protection systems to calculations, relay settings, and analyses.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing relay protection systems and developing protection settings for AC stations.
• Participating in technical requirements setting and investigations within protection systems.
• Being responsible for protection systems in our facility projects.
• Participating in management and technical development within the field.
• Contributing to international collaborations, such as CIGRÉ assignments.
• Participating in disturbance analysis of the transmission network.

We are in an exciting phase of the electrification of society, where our expertise in relay protection plays a crucial role in enabling the transition to a sustainable energy system.

You will be part of the Protection Systems unit, which consists of 14 dedicated colleagues with deep expertise in relay protection. Our mission is to support Svenska kraftnät with expertise in the field and ensure that our requirements and systems maintain the highest technical standards.

About you

Requirements

We want you to have a civil or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, energy systems, or equivalent. You may also have acquired relevant skills in another way that the employer assesses as equivalent.

The role requires that you have:

• At least 6 years of experience with directly grounded networks (130–400 kV).
• At least 6 years of experience independently developing relay setting plans/selective plans and designing relay protection systems.
• At least 4 years of experience working with disturbance analysis for directly grounded networks 130-400 kV.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

We consider it an advantage if you have experience with:

• Calculation programs such as CAPE, PSS/E, or similar.
• Multiple generations of relay protection (numerical, static, electromechanical).
• A driving license (B).
