The Benefits Fraud Department encompasses the areas of Crime Prevention, Control, Payment, and Repayment. In the department's operations for legal support, it includes being a support to the operations of reassessment, litigation, and the department's other areas of activity. As a departmental lawyer, you will work closely with your lawyer colleagues, and we work closely together to ensure high quality and competence development in a sometimes high-paced work environment.

Legal support, development, and collaboration
The departmental lawyers within the Benefits Fraud Department work with a wide range of legal issues within the aforementioned areas. The tasks include quality assurance of legal documents, supporting legal dialogues, drafting internal governing documents, responding to inquiries and referrals, handling JO referrals, developing training, acting as a sounding board for the operations, etc. The legal support also works strategically and systematically with information management related to the Administrative Procedure Act, the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act, and GDPR.

The Swedish Social Insurance Agency is gaining more and more powers and opportunities in the fight against benefits fraud, which means that legal development work is required in the implementation of reforms. The legal support in the Benefits Fraud Department should also contribute to the work of regulatory development aimed at preventing benefits fraud.

The work involves a particular responsibility for the correct and uniform application of social insurance and other applicable legislation. Based on the legal governance, you are responsible for monitoring legal developments within the Benefits Fraud Department. This includes developments in both social insurance law and other legal issues that affect the agency's ability to prevent benefits fraud. By being a close legal support to the department's employees and development activities, you contribute to good legal quality. You support managers and employees in legal matters and share your knowledge. You contribute to good collaboration both within the department and with other departments, including the agency's legal department.

As a lawyer, you handle confidential information, which places high demands on proper handling. Therefore, it is important that you who will work with us have a high security awareness.

We are looking for someone who

  • has a law degree or equivalent
  • is a court clerk or has equivalent competence, for example, similar experience from a court or government agency
  • acts on their own initiative and takes responsibility for results with high quality
  • has a systematic and meticulous working method
  • can understand and analyze complex issues
  • collaborates effectively to achieve common goals.

It is meritorious if you

  • have good knowledge of administrative law and social insurance law
  • have good knowledge related to benefits fraud, recovery, economic crime, and crime prevention work or similar issues
  • have good knowledge of Public Access to Information and Secrecy, data protection issues, and other government agency law.
