The Education and Labor Market Administration is responsible for labor-promoting measures, integration issues, and education at the upper secondary and post-secondary levels. Here we create conditions for lifelong learning and opportunities for individuals to develop, study, and achieve self-sufficiency. We also contribute to a vibrant business community by addressing the development needs of the labor market and creating project initiatives, networks, and meeting places where education and business can meet.

The Labor Market Unit within Varberg Municipality is undergoing an expansive transformation with a focus on helping more individuals find the quickest path to self-sufficiency. The Labor Market Unit is organized under the Education and Labor Market Administration.

We work with assignments from social services/support, the Employment Agency, the Integration Unit, and the Coordination Association in Halland. We are 25 employees. Currently, the unit offers various initiatives such as internal and external work training, job search activities, internships, business contacts, work ability assessments, and various educational initiatives.

We are looking for someone who wants to help develop this important and exciting operation further!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Our mission is to find the quickest path to self-sufficiency for individuals who come to us primarily from the Social Services and/or the Employment Agency.

The unit's and job coaches' mission includes working with participants towards self-sufficiency, conducting group activities, and actively working to find possible pathways out. This may involve finding potential employers, maintaining contacts with them, and matching participants to possible employment or finding pathways to studies or other forms of self-sufficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

The requirement is that you have higher education with a focus on behavioral science, social work, career counseling, occupational therapy, or other relevant education that the employer deems equivalent, and we place great emphasis on personal suitability and experience.

We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of the Labor Market Unit's mission and work with individuals who are far from the labor market. Therefore, it is important that you have a combination of labor market knowledge and knowledge in behavioral science. It is very important that you are driven, goal-oriented, and a network builder with a good ability to see the whole picture. To succeed in this role, you need to be skilled at communicating with colleagues, participants, and employers. You should be passionate about service - enjoy creating new and maintaining contacts. It is desirable if you have local knowledge and contacts within the labor market in the area.

Good collaboration skills and the ability to structure your work are important. You are flexible and see development as a natural part of the work. You are used to working independently and collaborating in a team. You are good at expressing yourself both verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
