Library Assistant for the Children's Culture Unit

We are looking for a Library Assistant for the Children's Culture, Language, and Reading unit, located at the City Library in Halmstad.

The role involves working at the information desks to receive and assist visitors, performing administrative tasks related to the unit, and being responsible for organizing children's theater for preschools.

Your Responsibilities

Your tasks will include, among others:

• Participating in regular library work with a focus on children and youth
• Working according to daily routines such as book shelving in the public environment
• Handling finance/invoicing
• Purchasing and coding goods in our purchasing system
• Being responsible for children's theater, which includes contact with cultural representatives at preschools, ticket handling/allocation of seats, contact with cultural actors, venue booking, etc.
• Participating in the unit's planning, implementation, and follow-up work, and actively contributing based on the varying needs of the operation
• Staffing the information desks at the City Library and on the bookmobiles, including evening and weekend shifts

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has at least a high school diploma, preferably with education in library science
• Has administrative skills and good IT knowledge
• Has an interest in literature and culture for children and youth
• Has a pedagogical approach, is proactive, able to create contacts, and can work both independently and collaboratively
• Has good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written forms
• Is organized and systematic
• Has a good attitude and is service-oriented
• Is flexible and solution-oriented
• Has a valid driver's license (B)

Experience in library work and cultural activities for children and youth is an advantage, and personal suitability is highly valued.
