It is in the meeting with our residents that the value of our work arises! As an employee of Laholm Municipality, you are part of delivering services and support to our residents – every day, all year round. Laholm Municipality encompasses everything from care, support, and education for our residents to infrastructure, maintenance, cultural life, and growth. We believe that every employee has the drive and ability to improve the operations and a desire to develop in their profession.

As an employee of Laholm Municipality, you have colleagues with many different professions and backgrounds, but what unites us is our mission and our common values with the guiding principles of joy, courage, participation, engagement, and good role models.

Community Planning, Culture, and Public Health Administration (SKF)

is one of the country's broadest and most diversified administrations and includes seven units (Emergency Services, Environmental Unit, Planning and Building Unit, Technical Unit, Meal Unit, Culture Unit, and Recreation Unit) as well as an Administrative Staff. Our goal is to be a forward-leaning, change-oriented, and service-minded administration that is held together by our common development work and our effort to enhance each other in our respective professions. At SKF, we work at a high pace with the broadest palette of municipal tasks, which requires our employees to look beyond their respective operations to contribute to a whole within the administration. In our operations, we respond to three political committees: the Community Planning Committee, the Culture & Public Health Committee, and the Conflict of Interest Committee.

Description

The Culture Unit is responsible for cultural issues, from preserving cultural heritage to developing the culture and cultural practitioners of the future.

This includes libraries, cultural schools, the Drawing Museum, general culture, and Youth in Laholm. We are a total of about 45 employees who contribute to people's development and well-being by promoting culture, creativity, and innovation. We also have a public health mission where we, together with the Recreation Unit, are responsible for coordinating work on mental and physical health in the municipality.

As one of our employees in a key role moves on to another assignment, we are now looking for a new cultural coordinator based at the Drawing Museum.

The Drawing Museum in Laholm is the only museum for drawing art in the Nordic countries. It is a municipal museum that showcases exhibitions by both Nordic and international artists, as well as works from the collections. The building also houses Laholm's tourist office, which is under the Business and Destination Unit, and the building and museum are staffed together in close collaboration. The Drawing Museum has extensive public activities with about 30,000 visitors a year, including workshops, lectures, and a well-visited open drawing studio.

Next door is Laholm's theater, which hosts various events and municipal council meetings. The theater is a historic cultural building with a stage/salon that meets the standards of the National Theatre with 227 seats. The theater is primarily rented out to external organizers and associations that arrange various events.

Job Responsibilities

The role of cultural coordinator is broad and includes both outward-facing customer service and administrative tasks. You will be part of the Culture Unit's staff, report to the cultural manager, and be based at the Drawing Museum.

The core of the cultural coordinator's assignment consists of three parts:

  • Staffing the tourist office and Drawing Museum as an important part of these two teams, providing excellent service to all our visitors and tourists.
  • Administrative tasks, financial administration, and purchasing for the Culture Unit and Tourist Office.
  • Responsibility for the operation and development of Laholm Theater, including marketing, booking events for external organizers, ticket administration, and booking and executing the municipality's cultural events with a high level of service.

The Drawing Museum is open year-round, every day of the week, often even on holidays. You are an important part of the staffing of the building and are scheduled every third weekend. Full-time is therefore 38.5 hours per week according to agreement. In addition, work at the municipality's cultural events at the theater is included when they are to be carried out.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who excels in customer service and has a good demeanor.

It is an advantage if you have education and/or experience in a service profession and have experience working with the operation of a theater or similar cultural venue, including everything that entails. If you have previously worked in a theater or in the events industry in a service-oriented role, that is a significant plus.

As a person, you are outgoing, helpful, and good at keeping things organized. It is an advantage if you have experience in outward-facing work, such as customer service.

It is desirable that you have knowledge of financial administration.

Technical skills are an advantage, and it is also a plus if you have some language skills. We meet tourists primarily from Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands.

You work in a structured manner and are good at solving problems, focusing, and executing with a high level of service.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
