About the operation:
The Compass: Escorting & Relief is an operation conducted according to the LSS law. We only have hourly paid staff, several of whom are family members employed. The operation is aimed at children and adults who need support to engage in social contexts or to relieve parents of children with disabilities.
Relief:
The service means that you as a relief worker work with younger children in their homes or local area. The service aims to relieve the child's parents so that they can rest, shop, or spend time with siblings.
Escorting:
The service means that you as an escort follow the customer in everyday activities. It can be as support on the bus ride to college or to help the customer manage their leisure interests.
You can have several different assignments, both as a relief worker and escort. The assignments are based on the number of hours per month. Currently, there are assignments from 6 hours a month up to 12 hours a month.
Job Responsibilities:
In the role of relief worker, you work to relieve parents in families with children with disabilities, which may include crafts and play with the child at home or nearby. Our assignments are quite few hours, but there is an opportunity to have more assignments in different families to accumulate more hours. The work as a relief worker requires you to be curious to engage the children and their interests. The role also requires you to plan your time and maintain contact with the family you work with.
For one of the assignments, we are looking for two relief workers to work together. It is a double staffing assignment, totaling 24 hours per month. Thus, we are looking for two engaged and active individuals who together want to support a 7-year-old boy in his daily life and leisure. He is cheerful, active, and loves to run, jump, cycle, and explore the world around him. He has a great interest in letters, animals, and languages. We are also looking for escorts and relief workers for other assignments.
Qualifications:
- Educational background in children and disabilities
- Experience working with individuals with various disabilities or in care and support
- Knowledge and experience within the autism spectrum
- Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
- Knowledge and experience of low-arousal approaches
