Take the chance to become part of Solna City!

About us

Solna City is one of Sweden's most expansive municipalities, located in the heart of the Stockholm region. Here, both the city and the business community are growing rapidly, with significant investments in housing, infrastructure, and sustainable neighborhoods. Through strategic development projects, we are creating the future Solna – an attractive, modern, and green city to live and work in.

The position

The position is located in the controller unit and belongs to the department for financial and operational management, which is part of the city management administration. The unit's mission is to provide support to all municipal administrations, companies, and departments regarding financial and operational management, planning, follow-up, and analytical work.

Our offer

  • A meaningful job where you make a difference
  • A varied and stimulating role that you will help develop
  • A hybrid workplace with flexible working hours
  • Colleagues with broad expertise and an accessible manager
  • Offices centrally located in Solna with good transport links

What does the work involve?

It is a combined role where you work with the city's development economy while management controlling is an important part.

As a development controller, you are expected to have full oversight of the city's overall development economy, both regarding investments and operations. The tasks include developing systematic approaches to, among other things, calculations and project reporting. You participate in the preparation of development agreements and land sales. An important part of the assignment is to support project managers and urban planners in following up on finances, timelines, and quality in the projects. You play a key role in ensuring that our projects are financially sustainable and that resources are used efficiently. An important task is to create a long-term financial plan for the development economy.

As a management controller, you coordinate the financial work for the community building administration and support management and department heads with financial planning, forecasts, and follow-up as well as the development of relevant key figures and qualitative analyses. You also prepare decision-making materials for the political process. You participate in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports and annual accounts for the administration's boards, which include the building board, environmental and health protection board, and municipal board.

The work also includes ongoing monitoring of the community building and market situation.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree in economics
  • Broad expertise in the economic field with good knowledge of development economics
  • At least three years of experience as a controller, preferably with experience from a municipality, region, or other politically governed organization
  • Experience in project controlling
  • Experience in operational planning, follow-up, and analysis
  • Good IT skills with very good knowledge of the Office suite.

Experience in internal control, contract follow-up, or management systems is advantageous, as is experience working in larger decision systems.

To succeed in this assignment, we believe it is important to have good numerical analytical skills and that you are used to working independently and driving your issues forward. You are also accustomed to formulating decision-making materials and presenting figures and results in a pedagogical and audience-adapted manner. You thrive in a dynamic environment where collaboration with many different stakeholders is part of everyday life. As a person, you are persistent, goal-oriented, and motivated by creating results – you always work with the end goal in sight.
