Real Estate Lawyer for Mälarporten

Here you will work in one of Sweden's most exciting urban transformation projects and help create long-term legal solutions that impact an entire city. As a real estate lawyer in Mälarporten, you will have a strategic and independent role in the implementation of Västerås' largest urban transformation ever.

Your Responsibilities

Mälarporten is a comprehensive development area in the city center where we are planning for new housing, workplaces, green spaces, and a new station environment. The project is currently in an intensive implementation phase with many parallel processes and complex legal issues. There is ample room for innovative thinking.

As a real estate lawyer, you play a key role in the development projects and are responsible for the projects' agreements, both existing and new, ensuring that they are legally sustainable and strategically well thought out over time. You drive real estate legal issues and represent the city in property formation processes in dialogue with authorities and affected property owners.

You participate in strategic discussions regarding urban development, where you contribute with a legal perspective and have the opportunity to be involved in improving the community-building process throughout the city. In your daily work, you collaborate closely with other team members in Mälarporten, such as project managers, construction project managers for the transport hub, project leaders, and controllers within the unit. You also have a close collaboration with the city's development manager and other lawyers. Externally, you represent the municipality in dialogues and negotiations with, among others, developers and property owners. If necessary, you will also present cases in political contexts.

This is an independent role where you are expected to see opportunities, take initiative, identify risks, and help shape the solutions required in a constantly evolving project.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a law degree or other equivalent education and previous experience with contracts in complex projects. You have a good understanding of real estate law, transactions, and property economic issues, as well as negotiation experience. It is advantageous if you have previously worked with construction law, corporate law, land allocation or development agreements, and if you have experience with property formation issues.

It is important that you are confident in your expertise and can provide clear advice even on challenging and developing issues. You have a strategic outlook, good analytical skills, and enjoy close collaboration with others.

We Offer

With us, you will become part of a strong and committed team with broad expertise. We work closely together on issues and share the ambition to shape a sustainable and attractive city for the future.

You will have a unique opportunity to work in one of Västerås' most extensive and well-known urban development projects. There is room to influence, develop, and take significant responsibility in a role that combines law, strategy, and community building.

We believe in trust and freedom under responsibility. This means you plan your workday, have flexible hours, and the opportunity to work remotely part of the time.
