About Us

Misa's vision and belief is that everyone can participate in working life with the right support.

We provide individuals with tailored support for work and aim to make a difference for both the individual and society through our operations. We strive to be a knowledge leader in work-oriented support through investments in research, knowledge dissemination, and professional development for employees. We believe that diversity enriches our operations and particularly welcome applicants with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Misa is a non-profit company owned by the public foundation Includia. This means that the company's surplus is used for research and reinvested in the operations.

Misa Västerås started in 2011 and conducts work-oriented activities for individuals with NPF diagnoses, acquired brain injury, mental health issues, and intellectual disabilities who are entitled to daily activities according to LSS, which is our main mission today.

We are a team of 10 employment consultants with various higher education backgrounds and extensive experience in mapping/coaching the target group.

Our colleague is retiring this summer, and we therefore need to complement our wonderful team with an additional colleague.

Your New Job

As an employment consultant, you will help individuals with disabilities secure internships and jobs in the open labor market, providing the support needed for success. Together with the individual, you will identify their resources, support needs, and workplace preferences. You will then search for suitable workplaces and visit them with the individual to assess if the tasks and environment are a good fit. Once a suitable workplace is found, the internship begins, and you will provide both the individual and the workplace with the support necessary for success. To succeed in this role, it is important that you enjoy creating and maintaining good relationships with participants, partners, and workplaces.

In addition to individually matched internships, we also offer our participants group activities of both social and work-oriented nature. As an employment consultant, you may be responsible for leading one of these groups each week.

About You

We are looking for someone who believes in every individual's ability to contribute to the labor market with the right support. In your interactions with participants, you are patient and curious about finding pedagogical keys that help each person based on their situation. You possess personal maturity and listen to each person's needs to find pathways that assist their development. To succeed in searching for suitable internships, you need to be creative and willing to build mutual relationships. You are persistent and creative when things do not go as planned. As an employment consultant, you work independently but have strong support from unpretentious colleagues with extensive experience and knowledge. You will be an important addition to our team, and we hope you will contribute to the social fabric of the workplace.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a higher education degree as a career counselor, social worker, human resources specialist, behavioral scientist, educator, occupational therapist, or another academic qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.

Desirable Qualifications

Knowledge of intellectual disabilities, autism, and/or NPF diagnoses. Experience with the Supported Employment method. Experience in securing workplaces and conducting follow-ups at workplaces. Experience working with individuals with mental health issues and creating structure, presence, and stability in participants' daily lives. Good communication skills and experience building and maintaining relationships with employers and other partners.

We Offer You

My name is Joacim, and I am the unit manager at Misa since 2011. It is important to me that you feel engaged, have great trust in your work, and feel a sense of belonging with your colleagues. In my role as a manager, I strive to provide direction and support so that you have the conditions to take significant responsibility and achieve good results. With us, you will become part of a great team with extensive experience and knowledge. We value open dialogue and a spirit of creating operational development together every day through reflective conversations and shared creativity. We offer a generous wellness allowance, thorough introductory training, and professional development, external/internal supervision, and occupational pension.

This is a permanent position, 100%, starting with a six-month probationary period. Planned start date is June 1 or by agreement.

A criminal record check (Law 1998:620) must be presented before you are offered employment.

The application deadline is February 27, 2026.

If you have questions about the position, please contact unit manager Joacim Gunnarsson at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]).
