The Communications Office plays a central role in contributing to the municipality's development by making Sandviken visible as a fantastic place to live, work, and thrive, our efforts to be a good employer, and the municipality's important societal mission.
As a Community Building Communicator, you will lead, coordinate, and ensure that strategic needs are communicated while also working operationally with the production of various communication efforts. We would like you to have some expertise in film or graphic design, in addition to having experience in community building issues, internal communication, and an understanding of the political aspects of how a municipality is governed.
A significant part of your work will focus on highlighting the Western Gästrikland Community Building Administration (VGS). An organization responsible for community building issues and authority exercise in the three municipalities; Ockelbo, Hofors, and Sandviken.
You will:
- Be an important support to the top management within VGS (strategy and overall goals).
- Independently and together with the team at the Communications Office produce communication materials.
- Lead communication efforts in change processes.
- Develop, implement, and follow up communication plans.
You will project manage and implement various communication initiatives, and as part of the municipality's communication team, you will be involved in crisis communication during serious events.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree or other post-secondary education in the field of communication. You have previous experience working with communication involving many stakeholders and perspectives. You have the ability to create communication using various tools of a communicator, such as copy, image, design, social media, marketing, and accessibility.
To succeed in the role, we see that you have several years of experience planning, implementing, and project managing various types of communication projects. You work digitally and are a confident user of digital working methods, Teams, Office, and CMS systems. You master the Swedish language and can translate complex issues into easily understandable messages.
To quickly adapt to the role, you need to be knowledgeable and interested in community building issues, such as strategic urban planning and climate and energy issues. VGS also has authority responsibilities that require precision in all communication. Experience working in the public sector, preferably in a municipality, is considered an asset, as well as good knowledge of Adobe programs.
With us, you will become part of a wonderful team where everyone lifts and complements each other's skills to solve our assignments. Good judgment and the ability to relate to others in a sensitive and flexible manner are essential qualities. You also need to be persistent as many processes take a long time.
A holistic view, collaboration, and dialogue are what we strive for in our work. We also see that you have cultural awareness where you value differences and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect oneself and others. You have a broad perspective on issues, consider the long-term significance and further consequences of matters, and adapt your actions accordingly.
We hope you are curious and enjoy when one day is not like the other. There is room for innovation as we keep up with trends and developments.
