Being involved in a youth process of identifying oneself, one's dreams, and mapping out the path to goals – this is your everyday life as a study and career counselor at the Knowledge Association West.

You work to support students in this process together with the school's other staff and will be part of the school's student health team along with the counselor, special educator, and school nurses. The student health team is led by the principal of the school.

The position is at two high schools, both national programs at Nils Ericson Gymnasium in Trollhättan and national programs at Birger Sjöberg Gymnasium in Vänersborg.

Responsibilities

You will conduct counseling sessions, manage application processes, and plan studies. You create contact points and collaborate with other municipalities and various community actors; both private and public. We work together to develop our routines, and we also meet for collegial professional development.

You will primarily work with guidance in a narrow perspective, but you will also be part of our collective journey for the development of study and career guidance in a broader perspective, guidance that is the responsibility of the entire school.

In the role of study and career counselor at the Knowledge Association West, there is a lot of collaboration, so you must appreciate and see it as a given to work in a team. You need to be available for students, teachers, and other staff and will often be involved in many of the school's processes. Classroom visits or information at the group level are part of the assignment.

Qualifications

• Qualified study and career counselor
• You have good linguistic and written skills in Swedish and English
• Good knowledge and experience of using the Office suite

Meritorious

• Experience working as a study and career counselor in high school
• You master more languages than Swedish
• You have experience working in multidisciplinary teams
• You have built and can describe your previous networks
• You have worked with school management and developed study and career guidance as the responsibility of the entire school

Other

• We apply a 6-month probationary period
• The position is shared between Nils Ericson Gymnasium in Trollhättan and Birger Sjöberg Gymnasium in Vänersborg.
• We can conduct interviews throughout the application process.

The position is a permanent employment at 100%.
Start date: By agreement.
