Björkhöjdskolan 7-9 opened in the autumn of 2021 and is a K-9 school with a hearing profile. The school has two principals and is divided into two units, K-6 and 7-9.

Knowledge, collaboration, and connections to the outside world are important for the future. We want students to reach as far as they can and be challenged at their level. Our classrooms are newly renovated, and the rooms for science, home economics, handicrafts, music, and art are equipped with new equipment. The gymnasium is large, and the school meals are prepared on-site. Björkhöjdskolan 7-9 is centrally located with nature around the corner.

Teacher for grades 7-9, Swedish, English, and Biology at Björkhöjdskolan Job Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include teaching in a special education group/flex and the subjects Swedish, English, and Biology. We expect you to be well acquainted with the school's governing documents and to focus on goals, results, and quality. You act independently and see how your teaching positively challenges students' desire to learn and succeed.

You have high and positive expectations for all students. Your approach is motivating, and you work with significant student influence to provide students with various opportunities to develop. You enjoy meeting young people from different backgrounds and circumstances. You demonstrate this by planning, implementing, and evaluating your teaching based on students' needs.

You work very well with others, are attentive and flexible in your approach, and resolve any disagreements and conflicts calmly and constructively, based on a low-arousal response. As a person, you also have good self-awareness and are willing to develop in the field, together with other colleagues in the unit.

Qualifications

You who apply are a licensed teacher with qualifications to teach Swedish, English, and/or Biology for grades 7-9. It is an advantage if you are multilingual and have experience working in a special education group/flex.

You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively and find it easy to create and maintain good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Your leadership skills are strong, and you have a good ability to support students in their comprehensive knowledge development and learning in your subject, both individually and together with colleagues. As a person, you plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively and set and adhere to timelines. You help students believe in themselves through continuous feedback and are responsive to your students' opinions and needs.
