Lerum Municipality is known for its scenic spots with lakes and forests. The municipality has 3,200 employees and 43,000 residents but expects to grow significantly in the coming years. Lerum is only a 20-minute commute from Gothenburg and is currently facing a development-intensive period with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. The municipality works to ensure good service, high welfare, and a thriving business climate.

Recently, Dagens Samhälle awarded Lerum as the winner in the category of large urban municipalities (2025) - an award based on a comprehensive comparison of 290 Swedish municipalities in areas such as education, healthcare, economy, culture and leisure, attractiveness, business, and future factors like digitalization and civil preparedness. We are now a Super Municipality!

The Tollereds Unit is located in the industrial town of Tollered just east of Lerum and belongs to the Floda school area in Lerum Municipality. The unit consists of preschool, after-school care, preschool class, and primary school for grades 1 to 5. There are approximately 86 students in total.

The school is situated in a green industrial environment next to forests and lakes. The school provides great opportunities for collaboration between classes. We shape the activities based on the needs and learning of the students.

Tollered School is a smaller F-5 school with an attached after-school program, where we partially work in mixed-age classes. We have a student health team with a school nurse, counselor, school psychologist, and special educator. Adjacent to the school is also Tollereds Preschool.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to developing a modern operation focused on continuously improving the quality of education. You will take on the responsibility as a leader for an operation that constantly needs to take the next step and develop together with its students.

The role in after-school care combines care with pedagogy, and you inspire students to explore, learn, and acquire new interests together with others in the after-school program. During school hours, you will work in the classroom and, depending on your expertise, plan and participate in lessons. A crucial part of the role is communication with guardians regarding the after-school program, as well as addressing challenges that arise, such as conflicts between students. As an educator in after-school care, you consciously work on your communication to ensure that everyone has a chance to succeed in after-school activities. We value the ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with several years of experience in after-school care. You should feel confident and preferably have prior experience teaching students in groups in music and playing instruments such as piano and guitar. You should feel comfortable leading students in singing.

It is advantageous if you have training in sign language as an alternative communication method and are familiar with working and creating visual support in Wiget online.

You should be comfortable conducting lessons outdoors in forests and fields. Experience working with children with autism, NPF, speech disorders, and/or diabetes is a plus.

You have the ability to create safe relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. With a positive approach, you focus on the student's ability to develop socially and academically and have close collaboration with other educators at the school. You have clear communication, understand the importance of being a team player, and contribute with a positive spirit. You are flexible, proactive, and have a solution-oriented focus on the operation with the student's best interests in mind.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

The position will be filled as soon as possible, and selection may occur before the application deadline.
