The Grants Office, together with the Information Center, provides operational research support and functions within the Research Strategy and Operational Support department. The operational support involves assisting the organization in matters related to research funding, scientific publishing, and research data. We are now looking for a senior research advisor with extensive experience in EU projects, focusing on Horizon Europe.
About the role
You will lead our EU Team, which provides support to enhance the quality of RISE's applications primarily for Horizon Europe, but also for other EU programs. This involves advising researchers, managers, and project leaders on project design according to the EU program's participation conditions, analyzing and improving specific applications, and managing EU-related support cases. You will also collaborate across RISE to develop our internal AI support for application work and work towards strategic coordination of RISE's applications. Furthermore, strategic advocacy work towards the EU Commission in preparation for the next program period and contributing to internal training initiatives is included.
The position is classified in a security class, which means you will need to undergo a security clearance in accordance with the Security Protection Act.
Location: Stockholm or Gothenburg.
Who are you?
As a person, you are flexible in the face of new and varying tasks, have an easy time taking initiative, collaborating, and are accustomed to presenting to larger groups. It is important that you are service-oriented and have good communication skills. You can also express yourself fluently in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. There are good opportunities to influence the content of your work.
Requirements for the position:
Doctoral or licentiate degree
Experience in your own application work and/or support for applications within the European Commission's framework programs for research and innovation (Horizon Europe and/or any of the previous programs)
Experience in interpreting and applying research funders' participation conditions and regulations.
Experience working in the European Commission's Funding & Tenders Portal.
Experience in research funding at an authority or foundation, or alternatively central support for researchers within a research organization.
It is also meritorious if you have experience in:
Evaluating applications in framework programs and/or for national research funders
Working at research institutes
Project management of collaboration projects
Working in CRM systems
