Within the social care administration, about 1200 dedicated employees work to provide support and care to those in need in our municipality. The work takes place within elderly care, home care, disability services, and social psychiatry, as well as individual and family care.
The Disability and Social Psychiatry department is one of three departments within the social care administration. The department is responsible for LSS housing, daily activities, housing support, short-term stays, and personal assistance. We are about 250 employees who work with great commitment, focusing on the individual's needs and based on a belief in the individual's own abilities. We work purposefully to ensure that our operations have high competence and quality.
Within the department, we work for collaboration between workplaces and competence development for our employees. Therefore, we work in collaborative groups where we help each other meet the needs of our operations and share knowledge and ideas between workplaces. This means that you, as a future employee, will have a regular workplace where you work the majority of your shifts, and some shifts may be carried out at another workplace.
The Disability and Social Psychiatry department is now seeking a support educator for the Activity House! With us, you will help create an active and meaningful everyday life for the participants. The Activity House offers a selection of activities such as baking, music, and movement - tailored for each individual.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Within Daily Activities, we work to ensure that individuals can participate in a community and have meaningful activities. The intervention should contribute to personal development and promote participation in society while counteracting passivity and isolation. The operation should be meaningful and offer the individual stimulation and development according to their wishes.
As a support educator, you are part of the user-centered work, both in providing support and in a guiding role for the rest of the workgroup. You have special responsibility for certain cross-functional areas and will be responsible for social documentation and pedagogical development work at the individual and group level. The work also involves planning and quality assurance of activities and value-based issues. Within the department, you will primarily collaborate with other support educators, support assistants, and management to continuously develop operations and achieve set goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
To succeed in this role, you need to be confident in yourself and have the ability to inspire others to achieve common goals. You are flexible in your approach and thrive in a changing environment. We see that you are interested in development issues, have the ability to translate theoretical knowledge into practice, and take responsibility for your own learning. You are easy to collaborate with and enjoy working both independently and in a group. The work involves many contact points, so you need to be able to cooperate both within and outside the organization. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Qualifications:
- You have completed 200 vocational college credits as a support educator or 60 university credits in the relevant field or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
- At least one year of work experience as a support educator within Daily Activities and/or at least two years of work experience as a support educator in another field.
- You should have good computer skills and find it exciting to work with digital tools.
- Since the work involves social documentation, good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written, are required.
- Driving license B.
Meritorious:
- Experience and/or theoretical knowledge of low-arousal responses & clear pedagogical approaches.
- Experience and/or knowledge of sign language support.
- We expect you to have good knowledge of the target group.
