Kooperativet Hand i Hand is a member-driven organization established in 1995 for individuals entitled to assistance. Our members are located in Skåne, Halland, southern Småland, Västra Götaland, Stockholm, and Jämtland. We have offices in Halmstad, Hässleholm, and Malmö. We support our members with everything from applying for hours with Försäkringskassan/municipality to personnel issues concerning personal assistants. We believe that the work of a personal assistant is one of the most important jobs there is, as it provides an opportunity for another person to live their life like everyone else.

We are looking for someone to work as a personal assistant to a soon-to-be 60-year-old man in Helsingborg. The man lives in his own apartment and needs support with daily tasks. He has an intellectual disability (ID) and primarily communicates using sign language support (TAKK). Since he has reduced cognitive abilities, you as an assistant need to help him gain structure and predictability in his daily life. He is physically fully mobile and active but may need help with motivation to start activities on time and needs to take things at his own pace.

We are looking for assistants who can step in and work extra when my current assistants are unavailable for various reasons. There is the possibility of fixed shifts in the schedule; with me, we work day and night shifts.

We seek individuals who have experience working with people with ID. If you also have experience working with visual support/ACC and TAKK, that is a significant plus. As a person, you are calm, responsible, and proactive. To support the man in the best way, you need to be able to plan, stay one step ahead, and see what needs to be done. You enjoy a physically active job and have a great deal of imagination. We prefer that applicants are over 30 years old and can manage the Swedish language in both speech and writing, as this is essential for effective communication. It is important that you are smoke-free during working hours!
