Cooperative Hand in Hand

Cooperative Hand in Hand is a member-driven organization founded in 1995 for individuals entitled to assistance. Our members are located in Skåne, Halland, southern Småland, Västra Götaland, Stockholm, and Jämtland. We have offices in Halmstad, Hässleholm, and Malmö. We support our members with everything from applying for hours with the Social Insurance Agency/municipality to personnel issues regarding personal assistants. We believe that the work of a personal assistant is one of the most important jobs there is, as it provides an opportunity for another person to live their life like everyone else.

I am a soon-to-be 23-year-old guy who enjoys doing fun things and living an active life, but I need support in my daily life. I currently live with my family in Åkarp but plan to move to my own apartment in Lund shortly. I am active and enjoy swimming, cycling, walking, taking the bus and train, and going on excursions. I also enjoy baking, crafting, and photography - pictures are an important part of my communication. I will soon start a new daily activity in Lund.

As a personal assistant, you will support me in personal care and daily tasks, where I am involved as much as I can. You help me with structure, communication, and enable activities both at home and outside the home.

I am hearing impaired and have a visual impairment, classified as deafblind, but I use the vision I have effectively. I communicate using sign language, TAKK, and pictures. Experience is an advantage, but the most important thing is that you are attentive, engaged, and willing to get to know me.

I have assistance around the clock with some awake night shifts and some on-call duties. There is double assistance during all waking hours, except during daily activities where you are my medical assistant and support me in tasks and communication with others.

The Position

The working hours are not yet fully determined. You will start as a part-time employee with the possibility of a monthly contract. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Flexibility and the ability to step in during sickness is a significant advantage.

Your workplace is wherever I am - at home in Åkarp, at daily activities, in my apartment in Lund, or at activities. The transport links to the apartment are good, both from Malmö and within Lund.

I am looking for assistants who are:

• Active and enjoy moving around
• Comfortable working closely with another person
• Good at working in a team and independently

Education or experience working with children, adults, or individuals with multiple disabilities is an advantage, but personal suitability and interaction weigh the heaviest.
