Unit for Social Services and Disability Policy, Ministry of Social Affairs

Do you thrive with qualified and varied tasks where legal expertise is combined with an understanding of the whole? We are now looking for a case officer for a temporary position at the Unit for Social Services and Disability Policy at the Ministry of Social Affairs. Here you will contribute to reforms that strengthen quality and competence within social child and youth care, thereby contributing to the development of Sweden's welfare.

The unit works with issues within social child and youth care, individual and family care, as well as care for the elderly and people with disabilities. The unit is also responsible for coordinating children's rights policy, disability policy, and certain social insurance benefits. The work encompasses central parts of social services, including placements of children and young people, both voluntary and involuntary care, measures against youth crime, and preventive social work against crime. Relevant legislation includes, for example, the Social Services Act and the Act with Special Provisions on the Care of Young People (LVU).

As a case officer with us, you will have a varied and developing job in an organization of great societal significance. The tasks include both ongoing issues and long-term development efforts. You will, among other things, prepare materials and organize meetings, handle parliamentary questions and interpellations, and participate in the coordination of cross-unit processes. The work may also involve drafting proposals for bills, government assignments, and committee directives, as well as following up and analyzing issues within social child and youth care.

The position includes collaboration with other parts of the Government Offices, authorities, and external actors. You may also represent Sweden in various national and international processes and contexts. The tasks may change over time depending on current priorities.

Your background

We are looking for someone with a law degree (jur.kand) from a university or college and extensive experience in qualified legal work.

You have a very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, as well as a good ability to express yourself in English.

It is advantageous if you have experience in legislative work or work within the Government Offices, strategic investigation and analysis work in government operations, as well as experience as a court of appeal or administrative court assessor or another qualified lawyer. Knowledge of crime prevention work is also a plus. A good understanding of the demands of working in a politically governed organization is also meritorious.

We offer a temporary position for 1 year with immediate start. A security clearance will be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
