Do you want to contribute to the work of the Energy Unit in developing energy policy during an exciting time of significant changes and challenges in the energy sector, especially through the rapid electrification of society? Do you also have several years of experience working with electricity market issues and want to work in both national and international environments, right in the center of events? The Energy Unit is responsible for preparing issues within the energy policy area at the national, EU, and international levels. This includes, among other things, the regulation of electricity, gas, and heating markets, energy efficiency, supply of fossil-free energy, energy infrastructure, energy research, energy preparedness, and electrical safety, as well as the development of energy policy instruments, regulatory development, and governmental steering. The unit is growing and currently consists of about thirty employees. The Energy Unit is looking for someone who can contribute to the development of state efforts and support the implementation of the government's policy, including creating improved framework conditions for a robust electricity supply.

As an administrator at the Energy Unit, you will primarily work with electricity market and electrical system issues, both nationally and within the EU. This includes work with policy and regulatory development, handling government reports and consultations, preparing materials for political leadership, managing inquiries from companies, organizations, and parliament. You will prepare and communicate cases in the Government Offices, analyze the development of the electricity market, and represent Sweden in international collaborations and negotiations. Depending on previous experience and interest, other tasks and issues may also be relevant based on the unit's needs and the applicant's competencies. The work may involve business trips.
Your Background
To take on this role, a relevant academic degree is required, preferably as an engineer, economist, political scientist, or lawyer. We see that you have several years of current experience working with electricity market issues from the Government Offices or another relevant government agency, as well as extensive knowledge of electricity market issues.
Desirable knowledge and experience include:
- Experience with EU work on electricity market issues
- Experience in coordination
- Knowledge of EU processes
- Knowledge of the Nordic electricity market and EU regulation of the electricity market
- Knowledge of the Government Offices' processes

The employment is a permanent position with a six-month probationary period. A security clearance will be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
