Poll Workers Needed for Elections in Solna City
On September 13, elections will be held for the parliament, regional council, and municipal council.
We are now looking for you who want an important and meaningful assignment – to work as a poll worker in Solna City.
Want to contribute to democracy? Become a poll worker with us!
What does the job entail?
As a poll worker, you are part of the election process and contribute to ensuring that it is conducted safely, correctly, and fairly. You will meet voters, receive ballots, maintain order in the polling place, and help count the votes after closing. In a polling place, six to eight poll workers work in different roles. Among them, a chairperson leads and distributes the work together with a vice-chairperson. The work takes place in various locations in Solna during early voting and on election day.
Early voting runs from August 26 to September 13. On election day, September 13, you will work from morning until the vote counting is complete.
Who are we looking for?
You must be at least 18 years old by election day and able to communicate well in Swedish. It is an advantage if you also speak other languages. We are looking for someone who is meticulous, service-oriented, and can remain calm even when the pace is high. Previous experience in election work or an interest in democratic processes is a plus.
For the 2026 election, voters with a digital mailbox will receive their voting card digitally, and as a result, the Election Authority will modernize early voting. Those working as poll workers during early voting need to have basic computer skills and a curiosity to work with digital voting cards and a modernized early voting process.
Our Offer
All poll workers receive mandatory training before the assignment. The training is conducted by Solna City's election office and is a prerequisite for you to be able to work during the election. No compensation is provided for the training.
The Election Board proposes to the municipal council that poll workers in 2026 should receive compensation as follows:
- Chairperson: 4,600 SEK
- Vice-chairperson: 4,100 SEK
- Poll worker: 3,400 SEK
For work during early voting, hourly compensation is provided. If you are employed by Solna City and work on election day, there is alternative hourly compensation according to information on the intranet. The municipal council is expected to decide on compensation on March 16, 2026.
