Summer Job as a Social Welfare Officer in Elderly Care

As a social welfare officer in elderly care, you will assess, evaluate, decide, and follow up on support in daily life based on the individual's needs. Here, you have one of Sweden's most important jobs.

Your New Job

Many of the social services' interventions are assessed for assistance, and to apply for an intervention, you will be contacted as a social welfare officer. In your role as a social welfare officer, you will have contact with both individual clients and their relatives, caregivers, and other authorities. The tasks are varied as you are responsible for the overall decision-making process of interventions where you investigate, evaluate, and make decisions based on current legislation. You will also follow up on decisions made. As a social welfare officer in the Authority Unit, you can work within different areas, such as reception teams, investigative teams, short-term teams (follow-ups of short-term decisions), or home teams (planning from the hospital).

With us, you will have a varied and meaningful job with wonderful colleagues. We have a 7-hour workday, contractual salary, and an introduction to the work.

Your Qualifications

You who are applying have a completed or ongoing social work education, with at least the third semester completed. We would like you to have experience from practical training/work within other areas of social services. Previous experience in assistance assessment is an advantage.

You are service-oriented and have a strong commitment to other people, treating them in a professional manner. You are a good listener and communicative. Of course, you have excellent knowledge of the Swedish language in speaking, reading, and writing, as well as good computer skills, since documentation and collaboration are important parts of the job. Furthermore, you take responsibility for your tasks, structure your approach independently, and drive your processes forward. We place great emphasis on personal suitability!

A driving license (B) is a requirement for the position.

The Authority Unit for Elderly Care makes decisions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and is responsible for the overall decision-making process for the elderly, but also has responsibility for temporary interventions for our younger citizens.

Social welfare officers within the Authority Unit for Elderly Care have their workplace at Västra Storgatan or Klubbhusgatan in Jönköping.

Good to Know

The recruitment concerns several temporary summer positions, full-time. Start and end dates are according to agreement. Working hours are scheduled during the day from Monday to Friday. We prioritize candidates who can work 8-10 consecutive weeks during the summer. Only social work education is accepted in this recruitment.
