The Waste Management Department in Örebro Municipality is looking for a new planner for Waste Customer Service. About the Position

Welcome to us at Waste Customer Service! As a planner with us, you will work based on the waste management department's mission to provide effective and sustainable waste management. By driving projects and assignments and handling various tasks, you contribute to both daily and more strategic work. In this role, you work to understand the needs of waste holders while maintaining municipal responsibility and achieving environmental and climate benefits.

In our Waste Customer Service unit, there are 20 employees consisting of planners, customer handlers, system administrators, administrators, and a unit manager. You will have the privilege of working alongside creative, driven colleagues who all want to contribute to making Örebro Municipality a place characterized by sustainability and climate-smart solutions.

Examples of Tasks:

  • plan and implement various communication initiatives
  • collaborate with the municipality's communication department
  • develop materials for print and digital platforms, including social media and web
  • order and purchase printed materials, advertisements, and campaigns from contracted entrepreneurs or through direct procurement
  • participate in projects and assignments within the waste area with a focus on communication and behavior change
  • follow up on agreements and be responsible for contractor collaborations
  • be expert support in communication issues for the entire waste management operation
  • develop governing documents, prepare decision-making materials, and hold presentations in political committees

About the Workplace

Waste Customer Service is a unit with about 20 employees divided into different formations for operations (customer dialogue), system administration, internal service, and development and planning (where this position is included). We not only support residents with subscriptions and services but also the entire waste management operation to offer good service and sustainable services.

In the Waste Management Department, you will be part of a team of about 90 employees working together to deliver sustainable and accessible waste management. We want to make it easy for Örebro residents to sort correctly and reduce their waste. In the waste management department, in addition to the professional groups within the Waste Customer Service unit, there are environmental technicians and waste collectors. We operate from several different workplaces; this position is based in Berglunda. Atleverket and our five recycling centers, as well as about 30 recycling stations throughout Örebro Municipality, are also our workplaces.

The Waste Management Department is part of the Technical and Service Administration, which is also responsible for Parks and Streets, Water and Sewage, Gas Operations, Meal Operations, and Vehicles.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • academic degree of at least 180 credits in communication, rhetoric, behavioral science, or similar fields
  • driver's license B for manual transmission
  • good digital competence (e.g., within MS Office)

Meritorious:

  • knowledge and/or experience in the waste area
  • knowledge and/or experience in municipal waste management
  • experience in project management
  • very good knowledge of the Office suite including Teams, OneNote, CoPilot, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • experience in image and video editing tools
  • experience in communicative work/communicative projects
  • experience in publishing on social media platforms
  • experience in applying AI support (CoPilot/ChatGPT, etc.)
