Business Analyst at Örebro Municipality

About the position

As a business analyst, you will play a central role in developing and managing the municipality's common decision support tools. In this role, you will act as a bridge between core operations and support functions such as IT and analysis. You will work closely with the operations to understand their needs and translate these into functional and useful solutions in collaboration with IT, analytical resources, and other support functions. The role involves both strategic and operational work where you contribute to creating structure, quality, and value in the municipality's work with data and follow-up.

Examples of tasks:

  • collect, analyze, and concretize the operations' needs related to follow-up and decision support
  • coordinate a network of data coordinators in the administrations
  • work on the development, further development, and management of the municipality's decision support tools
  • support the operations in the use of decision support and contribute to increased data maturity
  • participate in prioritization and planning of development efforts
  • contribute to common working methods, concepts, and definitions for data and follow-up

About the workplace

The mission of the Development and Sustainability Department is to provide operational management and municipal leadership support in meeting the municipality's strategies and goals for sustainable operational and community development. Our department consists of two units, and in this position, you will belong to the analysis and project office unit.

We have annual working hours, which means you have the opportunity to partially control your own working hours. There is also the possibility of remote work based on the needs of the operations. We are located in newly renovated premises at Åbylunden 1.

Qualifications

For this role, we are looking for someone who has the ability to plan and organize their work effectively and independently. You find it easy to understand complex issues, analyze, and break down problems to find solutions. To succeed in this work, you need to be attentive and collaborative. You are relationship-building and enjoy having a coordinating role. As our work is in constant change, you easily adapt to changing circumstances.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • relevant university degree of at least 180 credits in the field of statistics, social analysis, political science, economics, or another area deemed relevant by the employer
  • work experience from a coordinating or leading role

Meritorious:

  • studies or work experience in IT
  • studies or work experience in statistics and analysis
  • experience working with decision support, follow-up, reporting, or BI tools
  • experience working in public sector
