Summer Interns Wanted at Laboratory Medicine Gävleborg

Laboratory Medicine Gävleborg is Region Gävleborg's competence organization for the diagnostics of patient samples. Clinical chemistry and transfusion medicine in Gävle perform sample collection, blood donation, and provide analysis results primarily for blood samples. Clinical microbiology works with bacteria and viruses. Clinical pathology and cytology prepare tissue and cell samples and perform diagnostics of changes at the cellular level. All units within laboratory medicine are accredited.

Summer interns are sought for our units in Gävle; please specify in your application which unit you wish to work at.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As laboratory staff with us, you will work with:

• handling of samples
• analytical work
• sample collection
• component preparation.

The tasks will be adjusted based on your qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS

It is desirable that you possess good social skills and enjoy working and collaborating with others. You have the ability to meet people with a sense of service in a professional and empathetic manner. You are structured in your work and have a good ability for independent work.

In the role of laboratory staff, you should:

• be a biomedical analyst, nurse, assistant nurse, or in training for one of these professions, or have other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent
• have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as the tasks involve communication with customers and colleagues.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have experience with laboratory tasks.
