About the position
Transfusion medicine is part of Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine. Within the field, there are two specializations: blood components and immunohematology. Your main placement will be within blood components in Huddinge.
Karolinska University Hospital is responsible for the blood supply to healthcare in the Stockholm Region. In Huddinge, all production of blood components from blood donors' blood takes place, making the unit a central part of the region's transfusion operations.
Our unit consists of a total of 36 employees with various educational backgrounds and competencies. Here, laboratory assistants, nursing assistants, nurses, biomedical analysts, and laboratory engineers work together in close collaboration.
The tasks involve the production of blood components (mainly erythrocytes, plasma, and platelets), but also include release, sales, and coordination of the blood inventory. We work with accredited methods and quality assurance.
Working hours are daytime 8-16:30 or evening 12:30-21:00 or 14:30-23:00 on weekdays and some Saturdays. We apply flexitime. The position is a permanent position. A probationary period may apply.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Licensed biomedical analyst
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
Meritorious:
- Experience in blood component production, release, and distribution of blood inventory.
