As we move forward, the innovative and open spirit that builds our 140-year-old startup culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. Thus, as we shape a resource-rich, less wasteful world, we also build our personal development.
About the role
In the role of Environmental Engineer, you will be part of the Quality, Health & Safety and Environment (QHSE) team and report to the Quality & HSE Manager. As an Environmental Engineer in this position, you will develop and coordinate environmental work on site by supporting the organization and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation. Your main responsibilities include implementing and maintaining ISO 14001 for environmental certification, communicating developments in the environmental field, managing internal and external sustainability reporting, and representing the organization to authorities.
You will work with the Stockholm site’s environmental management system according to ISO 14001, as well as be responsible for environmental legislation monitoring, controls, and reporting. This also means that you will participate in management reviews and support line functions in their operational environmental work. Furthermore, communication with the property owner regarding environment and waste, as well as risk assessing chemicals and arranging courses, will be part of your duties. You will also handle occupational health and safety issues and the safe handling of hazardous waste. Collaboration within the group for HSE and document management is also part of your responsibility.
Who you are
You have a genuine passion for the environment and are highly organized. You build and maintain relationships, both within and outside the organization, to promote knowledge and efficiency. Your delivery-focused approach shows that you are confident and driven.
As a skilled communicator, you adapt to different situations and engage people at all levels. You solve problems in a pragmatic, systematic, and analytical way, and contribute to a positive work climate by being straightforward and clear in your communication - both in Swedish and English.
Your accuracy, independence, and inner drive make you take responsibility for your tasks and excel as a relationship builder and networker. You are flexible and handle changes and new legal requirements in the environmental and occupational health and safety areas.
You thrive in a dynamic environment, see both the big picture and the details, and always strive for improvements. You work systematically to achieve these goals. As a person, you are a team player who contributes to making the team strong. Since the role involves a lot of communication, you need to be fluent in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
Furthermore, we would like you to have:
- A relevant higher education in environmental science, chemistry, or equivalent experience and education in strategic environmental work.
- Solid knowledge of Swedish environmental legislation as well as management systems for external environment (ISO 14001) and Swedish occupational health and safety legislation.
- Experience working with environmental issues in various organizations and have conducted risk assessments of chemicals.
- Technical knowledge of IT systems.
We offer you
An exciting job with technically advanced products at a strong and stable employer. The well-being and development of our employees mean a lot to us, and you will receive ongoing training and great scope in your role for change and improvement. We have an international, open, and friendly climate where we help each other develop and create value for our customers.
