Mobile School Nurse at 80 Percent

We are now looking for a mobile school nurse at 80 percent to our competent and wonderful team.

You will be employed within the central Child and Student Health/Medical Services (EMI) but will work term-wise at 3-4 different schools based on need.

Your mission

In the role of school nurse, you are responsible for planning and conducting health visits for students from preschool to year 1 in high school. You will conduct shorter health visits for students in year 2 and 6 as well as in-depth health visits and conversations in preschool, year 4 and 8, and year 1 in high school. The health visits in preschool are conducted together with the school doctor and guardians. The assignment also includes simpler medical interventions, conducting health surveys, and vaccinations for students in preschool and year 5 and 8. You will have regular conversations and follow-ups with students regarding their well-being. If necessary, you will conduct follow-ups and checks of vision, hearing, back, height, and weight.

As a school nurse, you work closely with the school counselor, special educator, and assistant principal in the school's student health team. You also collaborate with a school doctor and school psychologist who regularly visit the schools. Together, you work closely with and around students, actively striving to support them in achieving their academic goals and promoting their physical and mental well-being. You work preventively and health-promoting around health issues and school well-being with a strong focus on health conversations and health lessons. You inform and advise on topics such as sleep, diet, social media, and friendships.

Your experience

For this position, you are required to have:

• licensure as a nurse with specialist nursing education in the fields of district nurse, school nurse, or health care for children and youth
• current experience working as a nurse
• good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is advantageous if you also have:

• experience working as a school nurse
• experience with digital journal systems
• experience working in child health care or similar.

The central Child and Student Health consists of school doctors, school nurses, counselors, psychologists, special educators, and speech therapists. Our unique competencies complement the educators' knowledge. We are a large group with a lot of drive and focus on preventive and health-promoting work.

As a school nurse with us, you belong to the Medical Services (EMI), where 30 school nurses and four school doctors work together under the leadership of a manager. We are a friendly and competent group that wants to collaborate and support each other. We have an open and permissive climate where we both share with each other and dare to try new things. As part of the central Child and Student Health, you will regularly meet with different staff categories for professional development and experience sharing.
