Do you want to promote open research information in Sweden? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

We are now looking for an administrator for the National Library of Sweden's (KB) unit for Research Collaboration, which is part of the Department of Collaboration. The unit consists of 10 employees and is responsible for KB's mission to coordinate, follow up and promote collaboration in the work for open access to scientific publications, as well as to provide a comprehensive data source for the evaluation of Swedish scientific publications. As part of this, the unit has operational responsibility for the national services Swepub and Publicera. The unit's responsibilities also include coordinating the Bibsam Consortium, which negotiates agreements with scientific publishers on behalf of universities and other research institutions to drive the transition to open access.

Role Description and Responsibilities:

As an administrator with us, you will work together with colleagues in a team to drive the development of the national data source for Swedish scientific publications, Swepub. This includes participation in internal activities as well as external activities in contact with other stakeholders. You will also contribute to KB's ambition to develop Swepub's long-term direction and role in the national ecosystem for research information. The work involves mapping, analyzing, and evaluating open and external data sources for enriching and disseminating open research information.

Tasks related to KB's mission on open access to scientific publications are also relevant, as well as contributing to internal processes for prioritizing IT development when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Academic education in relevant subject areas for the position, or equivalent competence acquired in other ways.
  • Current experience of working in research libraries, research funding agencies/government bodies, or publishers with a focus on issues related to research publications, metadata, and open access.
  • Good knowledge of scientific communication, publishing, and the conditions of research.
  • Good understanding of and experience working with metadata, persistent identifiers, and publication databases, such as Swepub, OpenAlex, Crossref, and ORCID.
  • Good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

Meritorious:

  • Knowledge of formats, practices, and guidelines for describing research output to Swepub.
  • Experience of practical work with collecting, managing, and analyzing large datasets, for example in R, Python, or Excel, as well as familiarity with using open data sources and APIs for research information.

Personal Skills:

We are looking for someone who enjoys collaboration and contributes to a professional and trusting working method in dialogue with both colleagues and external actors within the research system. You are analytical and have the ability to understand complex contexts and work in a structured and quality-conscious manner. You are communicative and can convey information clearly and pedagogically in both speech and writing. You work independently, take responsibility for your tasks, and actively contribute to the development of the organization. Furthermore, you have a development-oriented approach and an interest in issues related to open science, research information, and digital infrastructure.

Employment and Start Date:

This is a permanent full-time position that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date as soon as possible or by agreement. Placement is in Stockholm. We offer flexible working conditions to enable a balance between work and private life.

Application:

Welcome with your application no later than March 6, 2026. Attach your CV and describe why you are interested in the job and what you can contribute, you do not need to attach a cover letter.

In this recruitment, we use selection questions instead of a cover letter where you briefly describe why you are interested in this position and what you can contribute. Therefore, please be careful with your answers so that they accurately reflect your competence and experience.
