Description

We are now looking for a psychologist for School Area 13 in Nordost; an important role where you, as part of the student health team (EHT), contribute to the students' learning environment.

School Area 13 in Nordost consists of several schools, Vättleskolan 4–9 and adapted primary school 4–9, Gunnaredsskolan F-3, and Rannebergskolan F-3 and adapted primary school 1–3. The area is characterized by great diversity and strong cohesion among the schools. We work together to create a safe and creative school environment where all students can feel at home and develop to their full potential.

Responsibilities

As a psychologist, you are part of the overall student health team, serving as a cohesive link between all three schools and providing psychological expertise. You are part of the student health teams (EHT) together with school nurses, special teachers, special educators, school social workers, and school management at all three schools, with the principal as your supervisor. The EHT is led by deputy principals on behalf of the principal.

For the parts that fall under the Health and Medical Services Act, a quality management system has been developed, along with a PLA that supports, monitors, and quality reviews the psychologists' work.

Common tasks for the psychologist in the school may include:

  • supervising individual educators or teams
  • providing training to other professionals in relevant areas, such as mental health
  • conducting various forms of individual assessments and investigations prior to admission to adapted primary school
  • collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, such as guardians and healthcare neighbors
  • contributing to and participating in school development work and values-based work

As a psychologist in the Nordost education area, you have a psychologist group of nearly 20 people readily available, including professional developers and PLA. The group strives for a culture of collaboration and meets regularly for collegial support, further education, supervision, and professional development. Newly hired psychologists are always offered a mentor.

The position is a full-time position, but there is an option for 80% work if desired.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed psychologist. It is an advantage if you have:

  • experience working as a psychologist in schools in socio-economically disadvantaged areas.
  • experience providing supervision
  • knowledge of PAX
  • experience in consultation
  • experience in assessment and evaluation

Personal Competencies:

You have the ability to listen to others and are attentive to their needs. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You are also flexible and can easily adapt your working methods based on changing conditions and new information. You thrive on and see opportunities in meeting multilingual students and guardians from diverse backgrounds.

You are collaborative and have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. By being interested and creating understanding for others, you contribute to a respectful working climate. In your work, you are structured and clear, with the ability to take initiatives and make decisions within the framework of your assignment. You also prioritize your efforts together with the principal and other student health staff.

The professional role requires a high degree of independence, collaboration skills, and personal maturity. You also enjoy working with complex issues. Finally, you remain calm in difficult situations and can make well-founded decisions under time pressure.

Warmly welcome your application if you want to contribute and make a real difference in the lives of children and youth!
