About us

The Psychiatric clinic for autism is a newly established clinic within Sahlgrenska University Hospital, area 2, field of Neuropsychiatry. The clinic's mission is to treat psychiatric comorbidity in adults with autism. The clinic's work is team-based and highly adapted to the needs of the target group. Several active development and research projects are conducted at the clinic.

About the job

As a nurse, you are expected to take an active part in the teamwork around the patients. Together with the medical team, you will plan, coordinate, and carry out medication follow-ups and checks. You will have a central contact function for the network around those of our patients who have a place in a residence or receive home care services. For some patients, you are expected to take on the role of primary care contact, where you, together with the rest of the team, actively shape, evaluate, and follow up care plans.

About you

You will work closely with patients, so it is an advantage if you have previous experience meeting individuals with autism. To work closely with patients, it is beneficial to have a good approach, understanding, and interest in people. You easily create contact and communicate with both patients and relatives and always work from a patient-focused perspective.

As you work in a team and have contacts with different professions, you need to have good collaboration skills. You are secure and stable in yourself and can adapt to the situation and prioritize. To thrive in the role, you need to be flexible, accustomed to taking your own initiatives, and organizing and planning your work independently.

You have the ability to lead, distribute, and coordinate tasks to the team based on the employees' different competencies according to the patient's needs.

We are looking for a licensed nurse; it is an advantage if you are specialized in psychiatry. You should have previous experience in psychiatric work or other related fields. We consider it a merit if you have experience working with our patient group.

In the event of recruitment of nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Basic Year, which is our introductory program. The Clinical Basic Year is mandatory and lasts during the first year of your employment with us. The Clinical Basic Year includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulator Center. In addition, it also includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.
