About our workplace

Ward 238 is focused on cardiology. Here, we care for patients with heart diseases such as heart attacks, unstable angina, heart failure, and arrhythmias. We also have intermediate care beds where we treat patients who need a higher level of care but do not fully require intensive care. The department has 17 beds and is divided into three groups based on the level of care:

• Cardiology side: Here, patients in need of telemetry monitoring are cared for, with common diagnoses including atrial fibrillation and heart failure.
• HIA (heart intensive care): HIA offers ischemia monitoring and we meet patients with heart attacks, unstable angina, pulmonary edema, or more serious arrhythmias.
• IMA (intermediate care): On our IMA beds, we care for patients with a closer monitoring need. Common diagnoses in IMA include sepsis, ketoacidosis, intoxications, and respiratory failure.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. Additionally, it includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.

In the event of recruiting nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.
