Job Responsibilities
We are looking for a support assistant to Åkerviolens Bostad with special service (BmSS), a residence with 6 tenants where the target group is intellectual disabilities and autism.
In the operation, we have tenants with varying and at times extensive care needs. In our daily work, we use methods such as low-arousal approach, clarifying pedagogy, signs as support, and alternative and augmentative communication.
As a support assistant, you will support tenants based on individual needs for a good and independent life. The starting point is that tenants should be involved and able to influence decisions and interventions according to their own abilities. You will provide support in everyday life, from communication, leisure activities, and household chores to medication management according to delegation. The work also includes collaboration with individuals such as guardians, social workers, and relatives.
Your tasks will include establishing and following implementation plans based on the tenants' needs and motivating tenants in their daily lives. This may involve encouraging contacts outside the residence and creating opportunities for enriching leisure activities. As a support assistant, you also contribute to creating a positive and relaxed atmosphere where there is room for joy and a pleasant atmosphere, making everyday life more meaningful for the tenants.
All social documentation is done in Treserva. Digital aids are used by both staff and tenants, so we are looking for someone who is curious and willing to think outside the box.
The operation is a 24-hour service where we base our work on the tenants' needs. Working hours are scheduled for day-evening shifts, sleeping on-call, and weekends. We use Time Care Planning for operationally adapted and flexible schedules. If necessary, you may also need to work at nearby residences that we collaborate with.
Welcome with your application!
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social and pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits with two years of work experience with people with disabilities. The courses should be in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
You therefore need to have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. If you do not meet the language requirement, you may need to take a language test through the test user Educateit. The job requires very good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as communication, documentation, and secure handling of information are part of the job responsibilities.
We consider it an advantage if you have a specialist education beyond the nursing assistant training and experience with the target group of intellectual disabilities and autism.
We are looking for someone who is flexible and calm, can quickly adapt to changes, is positive and stress-resistant, and maintains a good calm even in challenging situations. We also expect you to have an open and positive attitude as you base your actions on the user's needs and show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role.
We also prefer that you have knowledge and experience of the following methods: LAB (low-arousal approach), AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication), Clarifying pedagogy, Signs as support, and IBIC (Individual's needs in focus).
