Social Worker – Focus on SoL and Elderly Care

In Essunga municipality, we are looking for someone who wants to work closely with people's everyday lives and contribute to safe and sustainable solutions for the elderly in need of support.

Elderly care includes both home care and special accommodations. The work is done in teams with the goal of providing coordinated support at the right level based on the individual's needs and wishes. You will collaborate closely with the unit manager, nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.

Job Responsibilities

As a social worker within SoL and elderly care, you are responsible for investigating, assessing, and deciding on interventions according to the Social Services Act. The work is largely independent and requires you to make decisions in complex cases while working in a structured, meticulous manner with a good ability to prioritize.

You will meet people in various life situations and create trusting relationships. You will follow up on decided interventions to ensure that the support meets the individual's needs. The role also includes providing service, information, and support to users, relatives, and other stakeholders. You will also collaborate with internal and external partners and authorities. The work is interdisciplinary and relationship-building, requiring sensitivity, professionalism, and good communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Work or ongoing/completed education in social work, social care, or equivalent higher education.
  • Experience with legislation and authority exercise in the care and support sector.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in complex cases.
  • Structured working method and good ability to plan and prioritize.
  • Relationship-building and attentive in meetings with users and relatives.
  • Good communication skills and experience with social documentation.
  • Good computer skills and a valid driver's license (B).
