The group home on Kilkestensvägen is located in the Muggebo area. The residence is surrounded by forest and has a fantastic outdoor environment. Here, five individuals with different functional variations live in ground-level apartments, each with their own patio in a quiet setting.

We are now looking for a support assistant who, like us, is passionate about individualized care in a homely environment!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a support assistant, you will work closely with the residents in their living environment, and the assignment is based on the LSS legislation aimed at providing individuals with a good quality of life. This means positively encouraging, stimulating, and engaging each person towards increased independence while creating continuity and security.

Your tasks will be based on the individual’s needs, where you will be responsible for care and support with personal hygiene, laundry, meals, cleaning, community contacts, and assistance with leisure activities. You will also collaborate with various parties, such as relatives, support pedagogues, daily activities, unit managers, nurses, and more. Written documentation is also part of the job.

It is important that you are attentive to the signals you receive from the residents and that you encourage participation. A key task is to ensure that the individual is involved in planning their support and in community life.

The working hours are mixed, including daytime, evening, and weekends.

The position is a full-time temporary contract from March 1 to August 31.

QUALIFICATIONS

We expect that you have completed a program in child and leisure or are a trained nursing assistant, or have another post-secondary behavioral science education that the employer deems relevant.

Experience in the following areas is advantageous:

• Clarifying pedagogy
• Low-arousal approach
• Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
• Sign language (TAKK)
• Documentation in the Lifecare system
• Caring tasks

If you have experience as a support assistant, that is a plus, but we also welcome interested recent graduates in child care, nursing assistants, and others with post-secondary behavioral science education who want to learn the job and develop with us.

When working at the Kilkestensvägen group home, it is important that you are a secure person and attentive to the individual’s need to follow their routines. You are responsible, see solutions instead of obstacles, and enjoy varied tasks. You take initiative and are good at motivating the residents in their daily activities to maintain a meaningful and active life based on their own needs.

Other personal qualities that are important for fulfilling the role include curiosity in meeting people and keeping the individual’s needs at the center. As a colleague, you have an inspiring approach and good collaboration skills.

A driving license (B) is required for the position, and you should also be able to work irregular hours as the schedule varies.
